One of my 'must see' stands at Baselworld 2010 was for Bremont Watch Company. They had hired a dedicated room in one of the surrounding hotels in Basel.
If you didn't know Bremont make British luxury watches and whilst they are a fairly small company their watches are getting a nice reputation... Many stars are starting to wear Bremont watches - A host of British stars such as Ewan McGreggor, Bear Grylls and Orlando Bloom wear Bremonts. More recently, over in the states Ryan Seacrest has become a fan of Bremont, and has been spotted wearing a Bremont ALT-C on American Idol.
When I visited Bremont at Baselworld, I saw both their current range of watches, but also their impressive new models.
First new model is the Limited Edition Bremont Supermarine Descent, which is a DLC version of their popular Supermaine model - A diving watch.
This is the Supermarine descent against a white faced Supermarine taken at Baselworld:
Next up is the Bremont U-2. This watch isn't currently in consumer production: A limited range has been produced for the USA U-2 Squadron.
Again like the Bremont Supermarine Descent, this watch is produced in DLC and carries a similar case design to the Bremont Martin Baker "MB1" and "MBII' Watches. One of the coolest aspects of this watch, is black Lume which highlights the U-2 plane and a U next to the 2 on the dial.
The 'consumer/ public' version of the Bremont U-2 will carry the same case design, however the dial is slightly more minimal in design. Having said that - these are prototypes so I expect some design changes to happen post Baselworld before the Bremont U-2 goes into production.
Here's the Bremont U-2 public version photos:
Well that's it for now. I can't wait to see these new Bremont watches in the stores soon. If you are interested in more existing Bremont models, I recently did loads of watch photos of their (nearly!) entire range...
