ML has a very nice collection
Mar 03, 2011,19:56 PM
I am interested to know what watch critics think about the square/cloverleaf gears. I think it is very interesting, but do those in the know think it is truly innovative or a gimmick? Do the gears have any potential application in future mechanisms other than showing hours/minutes/seconds on a subdial? Thanks for the report.

I am very predisposed to the idea on the Powerpoint slide of a "contemporary interpretation of traditional Swiss watchmaking". The Pontos Decentrique has always been interesting to me.

Hello Graham Yes, you have touched on an important point about the 5-position adjustment for their Masterpiece Collection only. A nice assurance though not COSC. If you like the Square Hour, the Square Seconde may even more appealing as it is constantly i...

Hi Andreas The 2011 Square Wheel model attracts lots of attention. And you are correct that the square-clover wheel set requires computer to run the calculation and simulation, and after that send the data for CAM using LIGA. That is the reason for the co...

Hi Drew Shared your thought too. In term of works, ML is pretty good. As the current world is about brand equity/mindshare, thought they have raised their visibility with the Memoire 1, but unfortunately it does not materialise on time. We shall see. Than...

Hi Stewart The implementation of the Square/Clover leaf gears for ML is alternative aesthetic expression through sort of LOCUS/ Loci geometry. Not surprised it may have opened up more creative applications of time-telling. We shall see what surprises coul...
