Here’s a report and photos that I recently took of the Bremont SuperMarine S500 ‘Blue’ - which follows on from a more general report I did of a cross-section of Bremont watches a couple of months ago.
The British designed / Swiss made Bremont SuperMarine 500 is a classic ‘Diver’ style watch, which is available with a standard rubber strap or for a bit extra on a chunky stainless steel bracelet. Whilst the rubber strap looks great in contrast to the hunk of a case, the stainless steel bracelet actually adds another depth of quality to the watch making the overall appearance simply breathtaking.
The watch case is 43mm in diameter, so appears larger than most Rolex or Omegas and employs Bremont’s Trip-Tick case design (The PVD barrel being central to this) Adding to it’s unique personality. Given that two brothers, Nick and Giles English, who have a love of historic flying aircraft - make it the name and inspiration for this watch is the SuperMarine SB6 20’s amphibious racing aircraft.
The watch can be bought in a number of combinations: plain black, black & green, silver and blue. In my opinion the blue model is the most stunning as it can be worn both as a casual, smart or you may even want to go diving with it!
Well that’s enough of me, only that if this doesn’t appeal to you, then maybe the Ltd Edition Bremont SuperMarine Descent - basically a blacked out version like the one below will be hitting ADs anytime soon.
The lume on this Bremont is very impressive!
Some wrist shots in the (Cold) English spring-time!
Many thanks for viewing - hope you liked the photos! - Piers
