Rebellion at Basel 2009

The new brand Rebellion (created in 2008) presented during the Fair two new models, the RE-5 and the RE-7.

Using the same type of case designed by Eric Giroud and used with the RE-1, the RE-5 and RE-7 feature exclusive calibers developped by Les Artisans Horlogers (Laurent Besse).

The case is big and powerful (46mmx56,7mm) and very thick (19,6mm). So if you have a small wrist, forget these watches. But if you like big watches with a lot of personality, you should consider them, especially the Tourbillon one.

All the pictures watches are prototype, so some details may change.

Let's start with the RE-7:

The Re-7 is a Regulator Timepiece. Many times,  a Regulator watch is designed in a very classic context. At least, with the RE-7, it's not the case. I found it very nicely made but not very readable. But I have always the same trouble with any Regulator.

The RE-5 is my fav one. It's a very original Tourbillon watch. Laurent Besse designed the caliber in order to be put in the watch upside down. It's the reason why we have this very nice visual effect on the dial. The frequency of the caliber is 3hz and it's a pleasure to look at the dial while winding it.

The window will be enlarged in the final version:

Thanks a lot to the Rebellion team and to Laurent Besse for the warm welcome !
