and the Piguet 1180 was not. Piaget does not claim the world's thinnest manual wound chronograph movement...


I am not sure whether a Flyback function adds much height, but taken as it is the claim seems correct. According to my knowledge there never was a Flyback version of the 1180. If such existed it could well be that the Piguet would be thinner still than the Piaget.

Piaget claims a record with a thinness of 4.65 mm for the hand wound chrono movement. Yet the Blancpain 1180 hand wound chrono was 3.95 mm thick (and the automatic version, the 1185 is 5.5 mm). Thus, there is no record for movement thinness here.
