Why does everyone forget the Panograph?
Jul 21, 2008,08:14 AM
It's incredibly affordable, and the Calibre 61 movement is totally to die for.
I wish I hadn't sold mine.
Cheers

Jaeger-LeCoultre 175th Anniversary exhibition in Singapore
By: SJX : July 20th, 2008-02:35
To mark its 175th Anniversary, JLC has organised a series of events here in Singapore, including a watchmaking Masterclass as well as various talks. In conjunction with those events is an exhbition of some of the best JLC timepieces from past and present....
My favourite - Duometre à Chronographe
By: SJX : July 20th, 2008-02:45
This is by far my favourite JLC of recent years. Everything is perfect - design, complication and finish. This is one of the most important chronograph watches; taken in its entirety it deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as the Datograph, Ref. 50...
The 303 my friend...the 303!!!
By: bernard cheong : July 20th, 2008-17:51
At about 1/4 the price of the doumetre and about as totally different in price from all the others too...I would choose 2 chronographs this year..the Duometre and a 303.
The DR is too painfully expensive. The JLC can hold up against the Dato
By: bernard cheong : July 20th, 2008-19:22
Ideally 3 chronos, for the classic, the JLC Duomet is porbably now the new king. For art, it is the DR Papillon. For rough but posh, it is the 303. For the others to be considered, I like the Dato, the Speedy, the Daytona, and the damned hard to get JLC R...
Some thoughts on that
By: SJX : July 20th, 2008-19:43
The DR retails for CHF45,000 or about SGD75,000, which puts it in the same price league as Harry Winston and Blancpain, both of which use the same Piguet movement but neither of which is modified to the extent of the DR which has a jumping hour, Papillon ...
Yes..I can't agree more on the "Compressor" aesthetics
By: bernard cheong : July 20th, 2008-19:50
I mean, it is the proportions that I can't grasp. The Master Compressor series made me doubt my own judgement and tastes. But you know, I think I am getting a bit nuts lately, maybe delayed effects of all that stuff I smoked in 1975. I actually like the D...
Which Reverso?

Excuse me, Bernard, but which Reverso do you mean -- not a Squadra or Gran Sport right? Thanks. respo
The mighty Gyrotourbillons
By: SJX : July 20th, 2008-02:54
Both Gyrotourbillons were on display. Gyrotourbillon 1 Gyrotourbillon 2 I never liked the design of the Gyrotourbillon 1, but the ballet of the tourbillon cages is a treat nonetheless. On the other hand, I like the Reverso Gyrotourbillon 2; the dial is a ...
And my favourite clock, the Atmos Newson
By: SJX : July 20th, 2008-04:26
Designed by Marc Newson, this Atmos is cased in Baccarat crystal and resembles an ice cube. It is a quirky, off-beat and modern design that I do not expect from JLC (truth be told I find most of the modern, off-beat JLC wristwatches off-colour), but it is...
